Hola estudiantes! My name is Pilar. I'm a professional Spanish teacher from Spain. I worked for 7 years teaching Spanish to foreign born students in an elementary and high school in Madrid. In addition, I have privately tutored adults learning Spanish for more than 10 years. My native language is Spanish but I am also bilingual in French and fluent in English. I grew up in Madrid and graduated from the "Universidad Autónoma de Madrid." I'm currently living in San Diego for 1 year to further my studies at the University.  Hello! My name is Anna Camacho, a Native Spanish Speaker. I was born in Calexico,
California, but raised in Mexicali, B.C. Mexico. I moved to San Diego in 1985. I attended San Diego State University and graduated with
a Bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts and Spanish, emphasized in
Special Education. I also, finished a Bilingual Teaching Credential (grades K-12) at San Diego State University.
I taught Spanish for 7 years at San
Diego State University and 2 years at High
Tech High
Chula Vista. I had a lot fun and fulfilling experiences. For 3
years I was President of Bilingual Teacher Career Leader
Association (BECLA) at San Diego State University. For many years, I
have been working as Academic Coach in the area of Special Education (
K-12). In addition, in 2004 and 2006 I had the opportunity to
study abroad in Germany and in Spain. It was a great experiences
because I learned different cultures and in 2005 I received a scholarship to study in Santa Barbara University.
In my class, I teach grammar, reading,
writing, pronunciation and different cultures. I really enjoy teaching
all levels and all ages. I love to encourage my
students to speak and practice Spanish everyday. I am very responsible, organized,
patient, positive and enthusiastic. I have been involved as a translator
and interpreter simultaneous in different fields of education. Overall, I have been helping many

and I’m a graduating senior from San Diego State University. My degree
is in International Business with focus in Western Europe and Spanish. I
was raised bi-lingual, and I’ve lived and studied in Madrid, Spain for
two years. While there, I attended both a Spanish high school and
university. I’ve taken at least one business-Spanish course every
semester since I began my degree at SDSU, and recently completed Spanish
497- Advanced business communication. I can really help American

Mario M. is a native of San Diego, CA. As a heritage speaker of Spanish, he has had the privilege of learning Spanish from the ground up. He has a B.A. and a M.A. in Spanish from CSU San Marcos. He was a Chancellor’s Doctoral Incentive Program recipient and Sally Casanova Pre-Doctoral Scholar. He has taught all levels of Spanish from 101 to 201 as a Teaching Associate at CSUSM. He has also taught Beginning and Intermediate Spanish as an Adjunct Professor of Spanish at the community college level. He has published and presented papers at various conferences and is a member of MLA, AATSP, ACTFL , and AHCT. He was a founding member and vice-president of the local chapter of Sigma Delta Pi, the National Collegiate Hispanic Honor Society at CSUSM. Mario has been a certified Spanish tutor since 2003. He has tutored privately for all ages and has also tutored at Palomar College for 7 years. In the professional arena, Mario has been a translator for Spanish speaking patients in ER’s in both North County and San Diego. Hello! My name is Fernanda. I was born in a beautiful Mexican city called Chihuahua, but I lived almost all my life in Mexico City. I have a Bachelor's degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from Universidad LaSalle in Mexico City. In Mexico I was a Science teacher and had the opportunity to be co-author of two Biology text books in Spanish that were published and used in the Middle School level.
When I arrived 10 years ago to the U.S.A I volunteer to be a Spanish tutor at my children's school and I loved it!!!. Since then I have been a Spanish Tutor and have a lot of fun and fulfilling experiences.
