I am an English and Spanish teacher who believes that learning should
be fun. Having fun while you learn is essential because attention to
the subject becomes stronger. I also believe that teaching must be
student centered. Structure is important, but feeling, as a student,
that you are learning something meaningful every lesson is what propels
a student to continue learning. I have over 15 years of experience
teaching languages and I couldn't love anything more. This is not my
part time job. It is my life and joy. After I received my BA in Modern
Languages and Literatures from California Polytechnic State University
and was certified as a TESL instructor my love for teaching grew
exponentially. I had been tutoring and teaching before all that, but
this gave me the complete confidence that teaching languages is what I
am supposed to be doing. If you would like to have a cheery, positive
and fun language class look no further. I am your guy! I guarantee a
high quality Spanish. I am a native Spanish speaker and have spent
around nine years living in Spanish speaking countries like Colombia
and Spain. My way works and I can prove it! Teaching areas: La Jolla, Del Mar, University City, Solana Beach, Mission Beach, Serra Mesa, Clairemont, Hillcrest, Miramar and nearby areas.

Spanish Tutor and have a lot of fun and fulfilling experiences. I enjoy teaching all levels and all ages. In
my class I teach grammar, reading, pronunciation, etc, but above all I
encourage my students to SPEAK. I think that is the final goal of
everyone who wants to learn a foreign language, to be able to

HOLA! My name is Joe, and I’m originally from Venezuela, and with a very extensive background: My father was born in Venezuela as well, from Portuguese/Spanish family. My mom is from Uruguay, from Brazilian/Italian family. You can get the picture of the complexity of languages I was formed in, having this mix. Currently I’m teaching Spanish in two different institutes. In my position as Spanish Instructor, I have performed my skills as I have enjoyed teaching my native language to several groups and private classes as well, with a very wide diversity of ages, nationalities and NEEDS. While Working in Universidad Xochicalco in Tijuana, Mexico, I have improved my skills as an Instructor at a University Level, having teenagers to attend to my classes. Also in Venezuela, I started developing my skills as a Professor at Universidad de Guayana, where I have several classes In some summer camps, I taught ESL to kids in a Private academy. This definitely has awakened my desire of keep teaching, as I discovered a real vocation in me within the classrooms. The fact that I have lived in several Countries in Latin America, and visit some others, makes me a good match with your needs, since you won’t only have the experience of a regular Spanish instructor, but also, the possibility of learning a very complex language, from a person who knows the small differences of culture, dialects and vocabulary in Latin America. Whether you are required to learn technical vocabulary, working in a Spanish environment, having a trip to a Latin-American country or Spain, want to communicate in better basis with your new family or friends, or just for the fun of learning a new language, I will be able to accommodate my skills, to your needs.
