CHOOSING THE RIGHT SPANISH TEACHER
The teacher must be a native Spanish speaker
The teacher must be native and fully qualified. If the teacher is not proficient in Spanish then he or she will pass his own mistakes to the students.
The teacher must have College level at least
Just because a person can speak Spanish does not necessarily mean that he or she can actually teach it. The teacher should have an advanced degree in their chosen subject.
Must be fluent in English
A good Spanish teacher must also be fluent in English and should be fully accustomed to the culture here in the U.S. in order to easily relate to the student. When teaching he or she must use the Spanish language at all times as well as being able to translate correctly in every given situation.
The teacher must be patient and professional
The teacher must help the student to feel comfortable enough to ask questions and make mistakes without feeling self-conscious during the lesson. Hence, the teacher must be patient and pleasant natured while at the same time encouraging the student to take an active part in each lesson. Remember, although it takes some effort to learn Spanish, it should also be fun!
